New website design and development underway...

Just to let everyone know, I am re-designing the current website. This was always intended as a rough draft. However I got too into it and went way too far. And now I have A LOT to redo.

The new site will not be ALL that different. The layout will be the same, however the design will be cleaner. I am utilizing XHTML, CSS (cascading style sheets, allow for more control than our current tables), and pHp (a form of website programming that I will use to make updates flawless and easier).

The new site will also boost some new features. This includes but is not limited to:
- A community forum
- Hosting of other driver sites
- Centralized collector tools
- Most Wanted NASCAR media
- Columns

Keep checking back here for more details!

Check out some of the newest cards added to our autographed collection. These includ both cards obtained in person, and cards obtained from packs of cards. There will be around 6 to 8 more cards added at a later date.

All were not added because of time contraints, and because I came across a problem. We have strived to stay 56k friendly as much as possible. I made a change in how I made my scans, because it saved me time. However, for a reason yet undetermined, the images file size is 3 times our normal.

Although it should be noted that all images scanned will most likely be re-scanned for the new site.

DefStatic's Comments on MB2 move...

Hello all,

For about a year now, I have been providing some Mark Martin information, as well as displaying memorabilia from my favorite driver, Mark Martin. The site has gone through some minor changes here and there as it trys to establish itself an identity.

Recently it has become public knowledge that Mark Martin will be leaving Roush Racing after the 2006 season, and running a part-time Cup schedule with MB2. Through out this year and last year, I refused to acknowledge or report on such rumors. But I did my best in other areas to dispute this rumor, until it bcame fact.

At first I was in a state I can only describe as "DITH" syndome... "Deer in the Headlights". I thought hell had frozen over and pigs grew wings. A million things ran through my mind. I had a million questions, and most answers would probably not suit me. How did this happen? Why did this happen? What about the trucks? Where was Roush throughout all this? What did Geoff Smith do now? Would I ever be able to accept this?

After some of the shock wore off, I began to except the deal, and did my best to sort through the after-shock of rumors that followed after the deal. I began to educate myself with MB2, and their success entering NASCAR, and their failings as of late.

I have come to a few conclusions, which I will report at a later date. However, I will repeat what I have commincated to others... if racing teams were stock (as in Wallstreet), Roush Racing would have just taken a major hit, and MB2 would have just sky-rocketed.

Before I go any further or discuss publicly anything that has been learned or decyphered, I want to make something very clear. DefStatic and this site WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT MARK MARTIN. I can not make that anymore clear.

On top of this, I would like to announce that this website will be expanding it's features and begin to really grow. A host of collection tools will become available, a chat forum which will expand to all of NASCAR is in the works, and the site will begin to make some minor display changes to make it look more professional.

So, I will leave this statement for now and restate once more, DEFSTATIC WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT MARK MARTIN IN ALL HIS ON AND OFF TRACK AFFAIRS.

Congratulations to Mark Martin on his deal with MB2 (which is told to be a sweet one). Congrats to him on his CTS win at Talladega, and his continued march for the Cup Championship. The #6 in '06!!!

Mark Martin wins John Deere 250 at Talladega!!!

Mark Martin, despite all the media frenzy over his recent signing with MB2 (look for a statement regarding this issue from this site later), not only won the pole for the first Craftsman Truck race at Talladega, but also won the inaugural race Saturday afternoon. This makes his 5th win of the season in CTS, and his 2nd from the pole.

Martin almost lost the lead on the first lap, but quickly took it back. Unfortuantly, a window tear off from another truck became caught on the grill of the #6 SCOTTS Rouch Racing F-150. Martin noticed his water temperature rising, and tried to get the debris off by following other trucks, but a window tear off is a bit more than standard debris on a grill. On lap 10, Mike Beam called the #6 to the pits to remove the tear off.

Martin got his lap back due to caution, and quickly found his way back up front. Not long later, Todd Bodine was challanging for the lead, followed by Musgrave. Martin tried to block the low line, and Todd attempted to advance his position and did below the yellow line. Martin gave him room at the end of the pass, but it was too late. Bodine tried to argue the black flag which followed, but was forced to the back after the caution that came out just after the pass.

Martin quickly took the lead back from Musgrave and his only real challange after that was any line stronger than his, and Mike Wallace. Martin shut down Wallace several times, and on the last lap, Wallace was turned into the wall by Mike Skinner, and simultaniously Bodine turned Derick Cope into the wall for a nasty 180MPH hit to the outside wall. Martin raced his way back to the finish and took the checkerd flag!!!

Congrats to Mark Martin, Rouch Racing, SCOTTS, and the #6 CTS team on another great win!!!
