Oh, why am I SO SO perceptive to TV?

Apparently, the end of the world is coming on December 21st, 2012.

OH COME ON, GOD. I graduate high school and go to college and this is what I get? *Sob*

Usually, I don't pay much attention to religious things like this, but really. The Mayans predicted the coming of Cortes, so why would they be wrong about the end of the world? Merlin, the Apostle John, and other people all predict it to happen ON THAT SAME DAY.

I mean, they predicted "men will fly higher than birds in the sky" (planes), "information will cross the world in a twinkle" (internet), something or another about cars that "shoot fire" (tanks), and more that all came true. "Catastrophe" that takes place in the Middle East?

NUUUUUUUUUUUUU

But it was so far in the past, maybe fate has changed since then or something?

Weather, Trips, and Doujinshi

Okay, it's October. Halloween, fall, and colder weather should be approaching, right?

DUDE IT'S EIGHTY-SOME DEGREES OUT.

Well, going to DC tomorrow, and I really need to sleep soon, even if it is only 6:06 right now, because I need to get up tomorrow morning at about 4:30 and get to school at 5:15. That's AM, people, AM.

Moreover, I can now draw in a Bleach-esque style. It makes me happy.
But really, it's for Brian's birthday this year. Doujinshi with him as a shinigami with a sword and everything. AND Hitsugaya makes an appearance a few times.

Well, at least, that's what I have planned.

PS: I seem to be the only one who says "Come now," nowadays, when used in a sentence such as "Come now, don't be so irritated." And "darling", "oh my", "oh dear", and "frankly" have been molded into my vocabulary with the more recent "DUDE~". YAY I'M OLD FASHIONED

あぁ、ひさしぶりですね～　２月ですか。わぁ～！

Okay, I figure I've butchered the Japanese language enough right there.
Translation:
Aa, it's been a while, hasn't it~ Two months? Waa~!
One more week. My family and I are going to Japan. Jessie, Sam, and Mother, until August! (Sob)

It's about four, I need sleep, and I'm playing tennis tomorrow. Won't that be fun? *Isn't being sarcastic*

I love tennis, I really do. Maybe as much as badminton. Probably only because they are sort of similar, and I haven't played real badminton since... More than a month ago and a week ago. Wow. Tennis is probably the only thing keeping me from going on withdrawal.

No one reads this anymore, but that doesn't really matter, because I'd rather no one see my butchered attempts at Japanese. (Oh, I need to get studying, don't I?)

PS: About the Death Note post, it really is checkmate. Just one that would be delayed by one move. ^^;

Wow, it's been... a long time since I last updated.

But anyhoo (does anyone say that anymore?), I am, in about ten days less than three months going to be boarding a plane and flying to Japan. Tokyo, to be exact, a two to three day stay, and then a train ride to Kyoto. Two and a half days later, I board a plane to China.

But it matters not that my stay in Japan is so short. I'm happy just going.

Oh, and I SAW PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN TODAAAAAAAY.
It was quite a nice movie; all of the animation was done nicely, and I could follow everything even though I haven't seen the second one. ^-^ Oh, and I like the Pirate Lords. They're so coo--

Shoot, I have a plot bunny for Wokou now. Darn you, overreacting imagination that conjures up plot/art/doujinshi bunnies from just about anythi--

...I just had an idea for a short manga about the angel and devil on people's shoulders. About a young woman working in an industry focusing on fact and that scorns fiction a bit. She has little mini-selves on her shoulders, giving their opinions about getting out of the industry, since she really wants to be a writer and often has so many ideas for everything... *flies off into oblivion*

And I reaaaally need to start going to those Japanese classes. I'm not even sure if I'm pronouncing 'Moshi moshi' correctly... START, DARN YOU! TIME, FAST FORWARD TO JUNE SIXTH! Because I know I really need it... And I want to play tennis~ Why must summer approach so slowly?

And in less than a week, I am off to St. Louis for a band trip in 70-degree weather where I'm staying in a hotel room where there is no internet, with three other girls (two of which are VERY loud), marching in the very sunny weather, and sweating buckets because it's so darn hot. So much fun, don't you think?

I don't want to go now... I'll be cut off from civilization and unable to use my laptop for THREE WHOLE DAYS. *Gasp* No... Nevar!

Oh well, it can't be helped. We're going to Six Flags for a competition thing, and it'll be fun trying to talk Brian on the Superman. I'm not going to even try convincing Michelle; she's never going to go on it, even if I ask and plead and beg on my knees. She might slip out of the ride anyway, since she's so thin and little. But we all love Michelle anyway.

I probably should get packing, and I need to shop for snacks and [Ramune]. Probably melon, maybe original or whatever I can find. And I need to find a way to teach Jessie how to read manga without her killing my book covers since she just HAS to hold them like you would any other paperback novel. No. With my manga, one has to hold it with both hands and not bend the covers back too far. She puts her thumb inbetween the pages right where the spine is and PUSHES down, and that ruins the cover far too quickly. So therefore, she is going to learn how to hold it the nicer way before I even bother trying to teach her to read it.

...Boy, I need a life.

We started badminton today in gym. The only word echoing through my head before 4th period was 'badminton'. I was so excited. Then what happens? We do pacers, the teacher spends 7.5 out of 15 minutes going over the study guide because one girl built a paper airplane out of her study guide and threw it across the gym, and another dropped her paper from the bleachers and interrupted the teacher to ask if she would get it for her.

Today I told myself: "You're always walking while looking down in gym. But when you're playing badminton, you can at least walk with your head held high."

And what am I doing here again?

Death Note: The Last Name Chessboard Fault

Alright, so I was watching [Death Note: The Last Name], and Light beat L in chess. But then I looked at the chessboard, and if I'm correct about what piece is what, then L could have gotten out of it. Since I can't take screenshots from Window's Media Player, I re-created the scenario on Paint.NET (so it's badly placed) and so here's the picture (no black king shown because I couldn't see the some of the board). Light is black and L is white:

Alrighty, so assuming that this is correct, look at the placement of the white king. If you'll note that the king has no safe place to go at the moment. Well, the white rook closest to the king could take the black bishop, and then the king could safely move the one space possible. Alternatively, the white queen could take the black pawn next to the white knight, and then the king could safely move one space diagonally.

But then, after a few more moves from each player, Light would have won anyway.
